One Dies in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Euclid Street [Anaheim, CA]
Six Vehicles Involved in Fatal Crash on Euclid Street near 5 Freeway Anaheim
ANAHEIM, CA (October 17, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died in a multi-vehicle crash on Euclid Street on Saturday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near 5 Freeway around 11:20 AM.
Based on a report, a Mercedes-Benz SUV slammed into a stopped vehicle at the intersection. Subsequently, the impact caused the two vehicles to collide with four other vehicles. The sixth vehicle involved was struck by debris and able to drive away with only minor damage.
As a result, the man who was driving the first vehicle that was hit by the SUV died. Emergency crews initially transported him to the hospital, where he succumbed to severe injuries. Officials did not yet release his name pending kin notification. In addition, the woman driving the Mercedes-Benz suffered minor injuries. Crews sent her to the hospital for treatment. Eight other people had minor injuries but declined medical treatment.
Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol as factors in the collision. However, they continue to investigate the case.
