Motorcycle Catches Fire in Crash on 110 Freeway at Vernon Avenue in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 5, 2020) – A rider suffered injuries in a hit-and-run motorcycle crash on Los Osos Road on Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Vernon Avenue just before 1:30 AM.
Based on a report, the victim lost control of his bike and crashed on the freeway. Subsequently, the motorcycle caught fire in the incident.
Good Samaritans stopped to assist the rider in getting him away from the fiery motorcycle. CHP officers along with LAFD firefighters responded to the crash. As a result, they said the victim sustained serious injuries. Medics quickly transported him to a local hospital.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze. Fortunately, officials said there were no other injuries.
The crash remained under investigation by the CHP. At this point, officials don’t have additional information to share.
