Kenrick Skinner Fatally Struck by Driver While Riding Bicycle on Margarita Road at Paseo Brillante
TEMECULA, CA (October 8, 2020) — An 82-year-old man died Sunday, a day after a bicycle crash on Margarita Road at Paseo Brillante left him hospitalized.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened around 7:20 a.m. Saturday.
Paramedics transported Kenrick Skinner, of Murrieta, to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar following the accident. However, around 4:00 p.m. the following day, he succumbed to his injuries.
Per the investigation, Skinner was trying to ride his bicycle across Margarita Road when an eastbound Toyota Corolla driver struck him.
According to a sergeant, Skinner pedaled into oncoming traffic, purportedly not having the right of way; however, an investigation into this account, as well as other details, remains in place.
As for the driver of the Toyota, he or she stayed at the scene and contacted 911.
