Ramon Arredondo, Robert Black Involved in DUI Deadly Accident on Baseline Street Near University Avenue
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (October 2, 2020) — A passenger died Wednesday in a high-speed DUI accident with a street sweeper on Baseline Street near University Avenue.
According to the San Bernardino Police Department, 35-year-old Ramon Arredondo crashed his vehicle into a street sweeper while heading westbound on Baseline Street around 1:40 p.m.
Police say 52-year-old Robert Black was traveling three miles per hour westbound on Baseline Street, spraying and sweeping the curb line, when Arredondo’s Chevrolet Suburban rear-ended him.
At this time, detectives believe speed and DUI combined might have precipitated the accident.
As a result of the collision, two other passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and sought treatment. Unfortunately, a 32-year-old passenger did not make it and sustained fatal injuries.
