BNSF Train Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Taylor Street [San Diego, CA]
Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Train on Taylor Street near Congress Street in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 2, 2020) – Police confirmed that a pedestrian was struck and killed by a BNSF freight train in a fatal crash in the 4000 block of Taylor Street on Friday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Congress Street at approximately 9:25 PM.
Based on a report, the freight train struck the pedestrian at the Old Town Transit Station. However, officials did not yet release the details that led to the collision.
Officers from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department found and declared the victim dead at the scene. At this time, the name, age, and gender of the victim were not yet available.
Police are still trying to find out the factors that led to the crash. However, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
