DUI Driver Crashes Into Fire Truck Near 32nd Avenue and Indian School Road [Phoenix, AZ]
Impaired Driver Injured in Collision With Fire Engine in Phoenix on 32nd Avenue and Indian School Road
PHOENIX, AZ (September 15, 2020) — A DUI driver sustained injuries Saturday after crashing into a fire truck near North 32nd Avenue and Indian School Road.
According to Phoenix Police Spokeswoman Sgt. Maggie Cox, a 43-year-old man in a black Chevy Tahoe SUV collided with the rear of a fire engine heading eastbound on Indian School Road.
Subsequently, the Chevy struck a light pole on the south side of the road before coming to a stop.
A few minutes later, paramedics responded and treated the man for non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the investigation, DUI had played a role on the Chevy driver’s part, which led to a citation issued by officers.
Fortunately, no-one on board the fire engine sustained any injuries.
You often hear about the effects of DUI driving. Avoid dangerous circumstances such as major injury collisions by relying on safer methods of transportation. If you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, do not operate a vehicle. Doing so will only make you more susceptible to harm. Contact a family member or a trusted friend to bring you home instead.
