Susan Teves Killed, Benjamin Ames Arrested Following DUI Wrong-Way Collision on Highway 95 Near East Russel Road
LAS VEGAS, NV (September 14, 2020) — A 58-year-old woman died following Friday’s DUI wrong-way collision on Highway 95 near East Russel Road.
According to authorities, 32-year-old Benjamin Ames, of Las Vegas, faces multiple charges, including DUI, wrong-way driving and probation violation, among others.
Investigators believe speed and impairment played important factors in the crash that left 58-year-old Susan Teves, of Las Vegas, dead.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, a gold Hummer H2 traveling southbound in the northbound lanes struck a silver Nissan Sentra head-on around 1:48 a.m.
Unfortunately, the Nissan’s driver, whom authorities identified later as Teves, died in the crash while Ames sustained only minor injuries.
Due to the incident, authorities had to close the highway, which resulted in major delays for commuters.
We would like to express our heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of Susan Teves.
