One Killed in Labor Day Car Accident on 80 Freeway [Vacaville, CA]
Fatal Four Car Accident on 80 Freeway near Oday Road in Vacaville
VACAVILLE, CA (September 7, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died in an early morning Labor Day car accident on 80 Freeway westbound.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near the Oday Road off-ramp at approximately 2:30 AM.
Based on a report, two vehicles initially collided in the lanes. As a result, the drivers of those two cars pulled off to the center median to talk regarding the incident. Subsequently, a third vehicle crashed into them. Shortly after, a fourth vehicle crashed into those three vehicles.
As a result, medics said that one person died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin. In addition, the drivers of the other vehicles suffered minor injuries.
CHP did not suspect that alcohol played a role in the accident. However, officers continue to investigate the case.
