LAS VEGAS, NV (August 24, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died in a multi-car crash on westbound 215 Beltway on Monday evening.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the incident happened at Buffalo Drive around 8:30 PM.
Based on a report, a contractor’s van ran out of gas and the driver pulled over in the shoulder. The contractor’s customer in a Mercedes-Benz also pulled over to bring gas. Due to unknown reasons, a silver Infinity left the roadway into the shoulder and hit the Mercedes. Subsequently, impact pushed the Mercedes into the van.
Medics took the driver of the Infinity to University Medical Center, where he died due to severe injuries. Officials did not yet release the victim’s identity pending kin notification. In addition, the driver of the Mercedes had minor injuries.
Investigators learned that both vehicles in the shoulder had hazard lights on. In addition, they also believed that impairment was a factor in the crash. However, they continue to investigate the case.
