Woman Killed in Pedestrian Accident on 5 Freeway [Lacey, WA]
Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on 5 Freeway in Lacey
LACEY, WA (August 24, 2020) – Police confirmed that a woman died in a pedestrian accident on northbound 5 Freeway on early Monday morning.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident happened near Exit 111 around 5:45 AM.
Based on a report, a Chevrolet Silverado was running on the highway prior to the crash. Due to an unknown reason, the 35-year-old victim crossed in front of it, causing a collision. However, it was not immediately clear why the woman was in the road.
As a result, the victim died at the scene. Officials did not yet release her identity. In addition, the four people in the Silverado, including a 2-year-old child and infant, were not hurt in the incident.
The crash delayed traffic for about two hours. At this point, the cause of the crash is under investigation.
