46-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on University Avenue [San Diego, CA]
Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on University Avenue near 36th Street in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 24, 2020) – Police confirmed that a 46-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on University Avenue on Monday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near 36th Street at approximately 7:40 PM.
Based on a report, the man was crossing the street outside a designated crosswalk prior to the crash. At that time, a 52-year-old woman driving a 2007 Nissan Maxima struck him.
San Diego police said the victim died at the scene. Officials did not yet release his name pending kin notification.
Police said neither drugs nor alcohol was a factor in the crash. At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
