Jeremy Koenig Killed in Mesa Go-Kart Accident With Car
MESA, AZ (August 25, 2020) — A 28-year-old man died Sunday morning following a go-kart crash on East Broadway Road near South Gilbert Road.
According to police, Jeremy Koenig was traveling westbound in a go-kart along Broadway Road. Traveling in the curb lane, Koenig was subsequently struck by a BMW heading in the same direction.
As a result of the accident, Koenig died at the scene.
Per police, officers determined that the 28-year-old had failed to wear any safety equipment like a helmet or eye protection. In addition, his go-kart did not have any lights or flags to maximize its visibility on the road.
As for the BMW driver, he or she will not be facing any charges at this time.
