Fatal Las Vegas Wrong-Way Crash on 215 Freeway
LAS VEGAS, NV (August 24, 2020) — One person died in a wrong-way collision involving multiple vehicles on the 215 Freeway near Tropicana Avenue.
The four-vehicle crash that involved a wrong-way driver occurred around 11:30 p.m.
According to reports, a blue Mazda was heading northbound in the southbound lanes before it struck a Ford F-250. The impact ran the truck off the road and into a concrete barrier while the Mazda spun out and struck a Hyundai. Subsequently, a tire of the Mazda flew off the vehicle and struck a nearby BMW.
Unfortunately, the female driver of the Mazda died at the scene.
Three people in the Hyundai and one person in the Ford suffered non-life-threatening injuries and received care at University Medical Center.
At this time, the identity of the wrong-way driver has not been released.
