Man Injured in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident at Orange Avenue and Central Avenue [San Diego, CA]
Pedestrian Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 17, 2020) — Paramedics ushered a 69-year-old man to a hospital following Friday’s hit-and-run pedestrian accident at Orange and Central avenues.
According to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department, the accident happened around 10:15 p.m.
Investigators say a car traveling eastbound on Orange Avenue attempted a northbound turn onto Central Avenue and struck the 69-year-old pedestrian.
The driver of the vehicle, described as a light-colored four-door sedan, reversed and continued westbound on Orange Avenue, failing to render aid to the victim.
Meanwhile, the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and required hospital care for his injuries.
However, information remains scant. If any witnesses have knowledge on the driver of the four-door sedan, believed to be a Pontiac G6 or of a similar model, please contact detectives.
An accident can spur anyone into a panic, but it is important to remain calm. Stay at the scene and contact officers, if needed. Leaving the scene of a crash only results in more severe repercussions for you later.
