Bicyclist Dies in Hit-and-Run on North Wolfe Road [Cupertino, CA]
Hit-and-Run Driver Involved in Fatal Bicycle Accident on North Wolfe Road and 280 Freeway in Cupertino
CUPERTINO, CA (August 16, 2020) – Police confirmed that a bicyclist died in a hit-and-run on North Wolfe Road on early Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near 280 Freeway at approximately 2:46 AM.
Based on a report, an unidentified vehicle hit the victim and left the scene. First responders said the man who was in his 50s was lying near his bicycle unresponsive when the authorities arrived. The bicycle sustained moderate damage but the victim suffered a head injury.
Medics later pronounced him dead at the scene. Sheriff’s officials did not yet release his identity pending kin notification.
The police don’t have additional information at this time. However, they ask anyone with information to call the sheriff’s traffic investigation division at (408) 868-6600.
