One Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 18 [Apple Valley, CA]
Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Highway 18 near Tao Road in Apple Valley
APPLE VALLEY, CA (August 16, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person got killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 18 eastbound on Sunday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened in front of the Car and Dog Wash just west of Tao Road just before 8:30 PM.
Based on a report, a silver 2010 Chevrolet Equinox struck the victim. However, officials did not yet release the circumstances that led to the incident.
As a result, emergency crews pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. They did not release the victim’s identity pending kin notification.
The driver of the Chevy remained at the scene and cooperated with officials.
Officers from Apple Valley Police are investigating the case. However, they don’t have additional details to release.
