SANTA CLARITA, CA (August 16, 2020) – A child suffered injuries in a bicycle accident in the 27400 block of Walnut Springs Avenue on Sunday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 4:20 PM.
Based on a report, a vehicle hit the young bicyclist in the lanes. Officials did not yet release the details that led to the accident. However, an initial assessment showed that the victim did not saw the car while crossing the street. As a result, the impact of the crash shattered the windshield of the vehicle.
Responders from the Los Angeles County Fire Department transported the child to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained and cooperated with investigators.
The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case. However, authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
