One Killed in Car Accident on Ventura Road [Oxnard, CA]
Single Car Involved in Fatal Crash on Ventura Road at Wagon Wheel Road in Ventura
OXNARD, CA (August 11, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died in a car accident on Ventura Road on Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just south of Wagon Wheel Road around 7:50 AM.
Based on a report, the 49-year-old victim was driving a Toyota Tacoma north on Ventura Road prior to the crash. Due to an unknown reason, the pickup crashed into the center divider. Consequently, the vehicle hit a structure support for the train bridge.
The driver was critically injured when the first responders arrived. Emergency crews later pronounced him dead at the scene. Their identity will be released following the notification of next of kin.
Oxnard Police said that alcohol or drugs were not factors in the crash. However, they ask anyone with information to contact Officer Manuel Perez at 805-385-7750.
