DUI Driver Hits Pedestrian in Fatal Accident on Lake Mead Boulevard near North Las Vegas Boulevard in North Las Vegas
NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (August 7, 2020) – Police confirmed that a pedestrian got killed in a DUI accident on Lake Mead Boulevard on Friday afternoon.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the collision happened near North Las Vegas Boulevard around 05:00 PM.
Based on a report, a Dodge Ram truck was traveling westbound on Lake Boulevard prior to the crash. Due to an unknown reason, it swerved out of the travel lane and jumped the center median, striking a man in his 40’s.
As a result, emergency crews sent the man to University Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. The Clark County Coroner did not yet release the identity of the man pending next of kin notification.
Crews also took the driver of the Dodge pickup truck to the hospital with minor injuries. Police believed that he was impaired at the time of the crash. However, an investigation is still ongoing.
