Patrick Pickering Dies in Motorcycle Accident on Highland Avenue [San Bernardino, CA]
Motorcyclist Killed in Multi-Car Crash on Highland Avenue at Valencia Avenue in San Bernardino
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (August 8, 2020) – Police identified Patrick Pickering as the victim who died in a motorcycle accident on Highland Avenue on Saturday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Valencia Avenue around 12:50 AM.
Based on a report, the victim was riding his motorcycle east on Highland when he ran a red light to pass through the intersection. Consequently, his motorcycle slammed into a Hyundai that was making a left turn at Valencia.
As a result, San Bernardino Police Department said the victim died at the scene. Officials identified him as Patrick Scott Pickering, 26, of Highland. In addition, the 48-year-old San Bernardino man behind the wheel of the Hyundai received treatment for minor injuries.
Police believe that speed appears to have been a factor in the crash. However, they are still asking anyone with information to contact either San Bernardino Police Det. Dan Acosta or Sgt. Jeff Harvey at 909-384-5792.
To the family and friends of Patrick Pickering, we would like to express our deepest condolences during this painful time.
