One Killed in Rollover Accident on Highway 7 [Spanaway, WA]
Two Vehicles Involved in Fatal Crash on Highway 7 near 174th Street South in Spanaway
SPANAWAY, WA (August 12, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person got killed in a rollover accident on Highway 7 on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near 174th Street around 1:00 PM.
Based on a report, the victim was driving a pickup truck northbound on the highway prior to the crash. At the same time, there was a passenger car that was driving recklessly and racing with a white Honda eastbound on 174th Street South. Consequently, the car ran a stop sign and hit the victim’s truck. Furthermore, both the car and the truck overturned in the incident.
As a result, emergency crews said the driver of the truck died due to severe injuries. They did not yet release the identity of the victim pending notification of next of kin.
Officials closed both lanes of the highway for a few hours while troopers investigated. However, they did not yet release additional details related to the case.
