SACRAMENTO, CA (August 11, 2020)—One person died Thursday in a pedestrian accident on Highway 99 near 47th Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of a big rig struck and killed the pedestrian near the No. 3 and 4 lanes; however, the manner in which the 7 p.m. accident happened requires more examination.
 
Following the crash, travelers expected heavy traffic on the northbound highway as CHP officials investigated the area.
