Driver Killed in Vista Two-Car Crash
VISTA, CA (August 3, 2020) — A 51-year-old man died at the scene of Thursday’s alleged DUI car crash on Vista Way near Copper Avenue.
According to San Diego County Sheriff’s Sgt. Hernan Gonzalez, the incident happened around 10:55 p.m.
Detectives determined that a 22-year-old woman in an Infiniti sedan was heading westbound along West Vista Way when her vehicle traveled into the eastbound lanes. There, her car struck an eastbound Chevrolet hatchback, killing the 51-year-old Chevy driver at the scene and causing major injuries to the passenger.
Per reports, the Infiniti driver sustained major injuries and received care at Palomar Medical Center, along with the Chevy passenger. Additionally, her passenger sustained only minor injuries and later received treatment at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego.
