Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on McDowell Road [Phoenix, AZ]
Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on McDowell Road in Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ (July 31, 2020) — A 50-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in a crash on McDowell Road near North 40th Street.
According to Sgt. Mercedes Fortune of the Phoenix Police Department, witnesses reported seeing the victim leap into traffic and attempt to cross the street.
Meanwhile, a red SUV traveling eastbound on McDowell Road struck the pedestrian but neglected to stop.
Unfortunately, the unidentified victim died later at a hospital.
There is no information surrounding the SUV or the person behind the wheel; however, if any witnesses would like to help authorities identify the driver’s whereabouts, please call the Phoenix Police Department non-emergency line at 602-262-6151.
