Demeako Palmer Killed in Motorcycle Accident at East Pima Street [Tucson, AZ]
Demeako Palmer Dies in Motorcycle Collision at East Pima Street and North Cloverland Avenue
TUCSON, AZ (July 30, 2020) – A 45-year-old man died in a motorcycle collision at East Pima Street and North Cloverland Avenue.
According to reports, the Tucson Fire Department arrived at the scene to provide immediate assistance to 45-year-old Demeako Duane Palmer. Paramedics subsequently transported him to Banner University Medical Center where he died.
According to investigations, detectives believe that Palmer was traveling westbound on Pima Street in the median lane before his motorcycle collided with the driver’s side of a Kia.
Officers say the Kia driver tried making a left-hand turn from southbound Cloverland Avenue onto eastbound Pima Street from a stop sign. However, that’s when both vehicles crashed.
Following the accident, the Kia driver stopped and cooperated with police investigations. Officers say that the driver’s failure to yield at the stop sign plays a major factor in this deadly crash.
In addition, investigators learned that Palmer did not have a motorcycle endorsement associated with his driver’s license; however, an investigation remains and thus far, no citations or charges have been issued at this time.
Our hearts ache for the family and friends of Demeako Duane Palmer. We would like to send our sympathies to you during this time.
