LONG BEACH, CA (July 27, 2020) — A liquor store employee died in Thursday’s hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Anaheim Street near Magnolia Road.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers responded to the crash around 10:40 p.m. Upon arriving, they found a male adult in the eastbound lanes of Anaheim Street.
According to investigations, detectives determined that the man, an employee of a liquor store in the 300 block of West Anaheim Street, died after trying to stop a van, whose driver committed a theft at his store.
