Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run on 15 Freeway Near Bear Valley Road [Hesperia, CA]
Driver Killed in Hit-and-Run Hesperia Accident
HESPERIA, CA (July 17, 2020) — A woman died Thursday morning after a hit-and-run on 15 Freeway near Bear Valley Road in Hesperia.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a witness reported a vehicle leaving the hit-and-run crash around 12:40 a.m.
Multiple CHP officers responded to the area to find a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder on its side.
Per investigations, a black 2005 Ford Expedition collided with the rear of the Nissan at a high rate of speed. The force caused the Pathfinder to overturn and collide with a nearby utility pole.
Shortly after, the San Bernardino County Fire arrived and found the sole occupant of the Pathfinder — a 65-year-old Victorville woman — deceased at the scene.
The second vehicle, however, was not recovered until moments later in front of the United Rental property located on Mariposa Road. Still, its driver was unaccounted for.
Authorities need witnesses’ insight into locating the driver involved in this deadly crash. However, those with information should contact the Victorville CHP office at 760-241-1186.
