Man Killed in Long Beach Pedestrian Accident at 37th Street and Cherry Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (July 17, 2020) — A man died Wednesday afternoon following a pedestrian accident at East 37th Street and Cherry Avenue.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the unidentified pedestrian perished in the 12:25 p.m. accident when a northbound Honda Accord struck him.
Investigating officers determined that the driver of the Honda traveled in the No. 2 lane of Northbound Cherry Avenue and had drifted to the right after looking down.
After striking the man, who’d been walking in the street, the vehicle veered onto the sidewalk and struck other nearby objects before coming to a stop on the east sidewalk.
