Lauren Prescia Arrested After Fatal DUI Crash on Rampart Boulevard [Las Vegas, NV]
2-Year-Old Boy Killed, 2 Injured in DUI Crash in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NV (July 19, 2020) – Police arrested Lauren Prescia after a fatal DUI crash on Rampart Boulevard on Sunday evening.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Lake Mead Boulevard just after 7:15 PM.
Based on a report, Prescia was driving a gray 2020 Hyundai Sonata at a high rate of speed prior to the crash. For an unknown reason, the car crashed into a 2011 Nissan Sentra that was making a right turn from Lake Mead. Consequently, the Hyundai lost control and went off the road. It then hit a sign that severed off the right half of the car.
As a result, paramedics pronounced a 2-year-old boy dead at the scene. 23-year-old Lauren Prescia and the Nissan driver suffered minor injuries.
Police arrested Prescia on suspicion of DUI resulting in death, reckless driving resulting in death, and allowing child abuse or neglect. However, an investigation into the case by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police continues.
