Man Critical After Bicycle Accident on 9th Street [Chico, CA]

CHICO, CA (July 17, 2020) – Police confirmed that a man became critical after bicycle accident on 9th Street on Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Oroville Avenue around 5:37 AM.
 
The bicyclist was running southbound on Oroville when the accident occurred. Based on a report, a vehicle that was heading eastbound on 9th collided with the victim. However, officials did not state the details that led to the crash.
 
The bicyclist sustained critical injuries. He is currently at Enloe Medical Center. Crews said that the victim had no injuries but his scans showed internal bleeding.
 
The Chico Police Department is investigating the case. At this point, they don’t know the cause of the incident.
