Police Officer Hurt in Motorcycle Crash on Alamar Avenue [Santa Barbara, CA]
Police Motorcycle and Car Crash Alamar Avenue and Foothill Road in Santa Barbara
SANTA BARBARA, CA (July 4, 2020) – Emergency crews rescued a Santa Barbara Police officer after a motorcycle crash on Alamar Avenue on Saturday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Foothill Road at approximately 12:50 PM.
A report showed that a sedan made a left turn and struck the victim’s vehicle. Police said that impact had ejected the officer from his motorcycle. As a result, he landed on the other side of the vehicle.
An ambulance took the victim to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for moderate injuries.
The driver of a white sedan, a woman in her 20’s, was driving with a learner’s permit while being observed by an adult male in the passenger seat. They did not sustain any injuries.
The Santa Barbara Police is handling the investigation. In addition, they will release additional information as it becomes available.
