Passenger Killed in DUI Car Crash on Pala Temecula Road Near Highway 76 [Pala, CA]
1 Dead, 3 Injured in DUI Single-Vehicle Accident in Pala
PALA, CA (July 2, 2020)—One person perished in Tuesday’s DUI solo-car crash on Pala Temecula Road near Highway 76.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Kevin Smale, the incident occurred around 4:44 p.m. on a rural roadway.
Just south of Temecula in the Pala community, a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, traveling at a high rate of speed, veered off the road and plowed into a tree.
Due to the impact, a passenger in the Jeep was partially ejected from the vehicle.
Good Samaritans rendered assistance and pulled the passenger, as well as two others, from the wrecked SUV before it caught on fire.
Unfortunately, the passenger who’d been ejected died at the scene. Meanwhile, the other two, along with the driver, were ushered to a local hospital.
The unidentified driver had been determined to be driving while under the influence of cannabis. However, the driver suffered serious injuries and received treatment at Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar.
No other information regarding this accident was available.
This is no easy news to digest. Our condolences are with the family and friends of the victim.
