Ernesto Manzano Jr. Fatally Struck While Biking Near Crest Vista Drive and Windover Way
MONTEREY PARK, CA (July 7, 2020) — A 17-year old died Friday after being struck by a vehicle while biking near Crest Vista Drive and Windover Way.
The incident happened around 6:40 p.m. when Ernesto Manzano Jr. was riding his bicycle against traffic, while traveling down a hill.
According to the Monterey Park Police Department, for unknown reasons, he collided head-on with a northbound vehicle.
Manzano, who had been a resident of Los Angeles, died at the scene, police confirmed. Meanwhile, the driver involved stay at the scene and cooperated with police questioning.
Officers do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident; however, they hope to seek witnesses’ help in identifying the cause and to call the Monterey Park Police Department’s watch commander at 626-307-1200.
