Stefan Molnar Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 93 [Jackpot, NV]
Stefan Molnar Hospitalized Following Pedestrian Accident on Highway 93 Near Ace Drive
JACKPOT, NV (June 16, 2020) — A pedestrian accident on Highway 93 near Ace Drive Wednesday night left a Jackpot man with life-threatening injuries.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, Stefan Molnar was crossing Highway 93 from east to west around 8:55 p.m. However, a tractor-trailer driver traveling southbound on the highway failed to find the 78-year-old pedestrian crossing the street as the truck approached the intersection.
In an attempt to avoid the imminent accident, the 27-year-old Redlands driver veered to the right but ended up striking Molnar with the left front section of the 2019 Freightliner.
As a result, Molnar suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital. As of Sunday afternoon, he remains in critical condition.
The Redlands, Calif., driver is cooperating with police investigators. However, it is unclear whether police had issued a citation at the time of the accident.
