Michelle Leon Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash on Markham Street [Mead Valley, CA]
Michelle Leon Killed in Markham Street Hit-and-Run Accident Near Hallet Street
MEAD VALLEY, CA (June 16, 2020) — An 18-year-old woman died following Sunday’s hit-and-run crash on Markham Street near Hallet Street.
According to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department, the incident befell in the 20790 block of Markham Street around 9:15 p.m.
Michelle Leon, along with a 19-year-old Riverside woman and a juvenile, was in the area when a westbound 1998-2002 gold Nissan Pathfinder slammed into them.
The driver of the supposed Nissan fled the scene, leaving the three with moderate to severe injuries, as well as a horse that subsequently required euthanization due to its serious injuries.
Investigators have no information surrounding how fast the Nissan driver had been going prior to the impact.
As a result of the crash, Leon died shortly after. The 19-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries while the juvenile sustained moderate injuries.
