Man Injured in Pedestrian Accident on El Cajon Boulevard [San Diego, CA]
Vehicle and Pedestrian Involved in Crash near 60th Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 13, 2020) – A man suffered injuries in a pedestrian accident in the 6000 block of El Cajon Boulevard on Saturday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near 60th Street at approximately 8:30 PM.
San Diego Police reported that the 55-year-old victim jumped over the raised center median prior to the crash. In addition, he continued to run northbound into the path of a 2003 Toyota Avalon. The Toyota was not able to stop and struck the man.
As a result, paramedics treated the victim for a pelvic fracture and head trauma.
Crews said intoxication was not a factor in the accident. However, officials from the San Diego Police department’s traffic division is investigating the incident.
