Jesus Mauris Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on 605 Freeway [Santa Fe Springs, CA]
Jesus Mauris Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on 605 Freeway Near Telegraph Road
SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA (June 16, 2020)—Authorities are searching for the hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a pedestrian Saturday on the 605 Freeway near Telegraph Road.
According to the coroner’s office, Jesus Mauris died from blunt-force injuries.
The California Highway Patrol confirmed that he had been a Montebello resident whom several vehicles had struck around 2:11 a.m. that Saturday.
Reports noted that around 2:00 a.m., CHP officers received word about a person lying in the northbound lanes of the freeway. Officers arrived at the scene to find Mauris’ body and interviewed two drivers whose vehicles struck Mauris.
One of the drivers stayed at the scene while the other one left initially, only to return after having found damage to the car.
CHP officers, however, believe the first driver fled the scene of the accident, but have no information surrounding the driver or make and model of a vehicle.
But if anyone can help police determine the unknown details, please call Officer V. Montemayor at 562-868-0503.
With deepest sympathies, we would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Jesus Mauris.
