Police Sergeant Injured in Motorcycle Accident on 25 Freeway [Glorieta, NM]
Officer Hospitalized in Glorieta Motorcycle Accident With SUV
GLORIETA, NM (June 12, 2020)—A police sergeant is recovering in the Intensive Care Unit following Friday’s motorcycle accident on 25 Freeway near Mile Marker 303.
According to reports, the New Mexico State Police sergeant was heading southbound in the left lane just before a southbound gold GMC Yukon made a left turn from the right lane.
The GMC reportedly crossed into the inside passing lane, striking the Sergeant’s motorcycle.
As a result of the crash, paramedics transported both drivers to St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe. From there, they airlifted the police sergeant to an Albuquerque hospital for further medical treatment.
Information surrounding which factors contributed to the accident, including speed or impairment, has yet to be confirmed. However, anyone who would like to help authorities, please call the local police department.
