2 People, Dog Killed in Ventura Pedestrian Accident on Auto Center Drive and Johnson Drive
VENTURA, CA (June 12, 2020) — A Union Pacific train fatally struck two pedestrians and a dog Tuesday night near Auto Center and Johnson drives.
The tragedy unfolded around 6:30 p.m. near a bridge crossing at the Santa Clara River. According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, emergency medical crews and officers responded to the scene after a call came in.
There, they found a man and a woman dead at the scene. Reports say the pair tried rescuing their dog who had gotten stuck on the tracks. However, the southbound Union Pacific train struck all three of them, causing fatal injuries.
No other information surrounding this crash was available.
