Suspected DUI Driver Involved in Head-On Accident at Skyland
ZEPHYR COVE, NV (June 8, 2020) – Emergency crews airlifted two people to the hospital after a head-on accident on Highway 50 on Monday evening.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Skyland.
Responders from the Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District said that two vehicles were involved in the incident. In addition, they said that one of the drivers was suspected of driving under the influence. However, they did not release further information.
Medics took both drivers via Careflight to Renown Hospital with serious injuries.
Crews closed one lane in each direction on the highway to give way to rescue and clearing operations.
Police did not release additional details on the crash. However, its cause is still under investigation.
