Bicycle Struck by Car in Accident Crash near 17th Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 9, 2020) – A man suffered serious injuries in a bicycle accident on G Street on late Tuesday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near 17th Street shortly after 11:50 PM.
The 30-year-old victim was riding his bike southbound on 17th Street at the time before the crash. At that same time, a 40-year-old man was driving a 2019 Honda Accord eastbound on G Street. The car struck the cyclist while the victim passed through the stop light.
Emergency crews took the victim to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening.
The Honda driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. In addition, intoxication was not believed to have been a factor in the crash.
