TULARE COUNTY, CA (June 11, 2020) — Two teenage girls died following a hit-and-run crash along Highway 198 near Highway 99 Wednesday morning.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 4:00 a.m. just east of Highway 99.
Investigators learned that a vehicle overturned nearby with three people trapped inside. Two teenage girls who died at the scene were among the three passengers. Authorities added that safety belts had not been used on their part.
Additionally, an 18-year-old man who authorities say was the third passenger in the crashed vehicle suffered major injuries; he, too, also failed to wear a seatbelt.
