Woman Dies in Head-On Crash on Wildcat Canyon Road [Lakeside, CA]
Two Vehicles Involved in Fatal Car Crash
LAKESIDE, CA (June 7, 2020) – Police confirmed that a woman died in a head-on crash on Wildcat Canyon Road on Sunday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Ketuull Uunyaa Way at approximately 1:20 PM.
The 21-year-old victim from San Diego was driving her sedan southbound on Wildcat Canyon when, for an unknown reason, she lost control of her car. In addition, she veered into the northbound lane. As a result, she then crashed into an approaching truck in the northbound lane.
The sedan driver of the sedan died at the scene. The 61-year-old woman driving the truck had minor injuries. Crews transported her to Sharp Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. However, they continue to investigate the accident.
