Luis Echeverria, Chantra Sun Hospitalized in Deadly Two-Car Collision That Killed 3
DEATH VALLEY, CA (June 4, 2020)—Three people died Sunday following a two-car head-on collision on Highway 178 near Highway 127.
Around 12:21 p.m., a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche heading westbound on Highway 178 collided with an eastbound 2017 BMW X5 under unclear circumstances.
Two people inside the Chevrolet Avalanche, as well as one person in the BMW, sustained fatal injuries during the accident. The remaining five victims were brought to Las Vegas University Medical Center for further treatment.
The remaining five patients included the BMW driver, whom authorities identified as Chantra Sun of Baldwin Park and the Chevrolet driver, Luis Echeverria of Fontana.
California Highway Patrol officers have yet to determine the leading driver of the accident. Any witnesses who have insight into this crash, please call the CHP office.
