FONTANA, CA (June 1, 2020) — A 55-year-old man died following Saturday night’s hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Foothill Boulevard near Hemlock Avenue.
According to police, the accident happened at approximately 9:41 p.m. A driver in a white 2001 Ford Taurus fled after striking the 55-year-old victim.
The unidentified pedestrian died as a result of his injuries. According to a preliminary investigation, he was riding his motorized wheelchair on Foothill Boulevard prior to the crash.
Police found the unoccupied Ford Taurus a short distance away before its driver—31-year-old Jonathan Rodriguez of Fontana—turned himself into the police department.
