Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Berkeley Pedestrian Accident on 80 Freeway
BERKELEY, CA (June 1, 2020) — A victim died Friday morning after being struck by a driver in a pedestrian accident on 80 Freeway near University Avenue.
The deadly accident happened around 2:50 a.m. on the westbound side of the freeway.
Authorities hope to determine why the pedestrian was on the freeway. However, police did not release the victim’s identity.
The driver of the Kia Optima that struck the pedestrian stayed at the scene. In addition, the driver cooperated with police questioning. However, information surrounding whether speed or impairment played a role has not been confirmed.
