Caitlyn Shaffer Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 101 [Scotia, CA]
Caitlyn Shaffer, Child Hurt in Hit-and-Run Accident
SCOTIA, CA (June 2, 2020) — A hit-and-run crash on Highway 101 near Barkdull Road left a child and woman injured Monday.
The incident happened around 3:13 p.m. along the northbound highway. Reports noted that a 2011 Kia Sedona, driven by William Legrain, traveled northbound south of Barkdull Road.
At some point during his travel, an unknown vehicle, heading southbound, crashed into a traffic delineator, which had been among many separating the north and southbound traffic.
The impact caused the orange delineator to strike Legrain’s Kia, where it pierced the front windshield and entered the passenger compartment.
The front seat passenger of the Kia, Caitlyn Shaffer, suffered major injuries, as well as a juvenile passenger in the rear seat who sustained minor injuries.
Unfortunately, the southbound driver did not stop to render aid. As a result, police are seeking help in identifying the driver and vehicle involved in this crash.
