Teen Airlifted After Bicycle Crash on Bear Valley Road [Hesperia, CA]
Vehicle and Bicycle Involved in Crash near Eleventh Avenue
HESPERIA, CA (May 22, 2020) – Emergency crews sent a teen to the hospital using an air ambulance after a bicycle crash on Bear Valley Road on Friday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Eleventh Avenue around 6:54 PM.
The 16-year-old victim was riding a bicycle when he was struck by a Toyota minivan. Police did not release details as to why the collision occurred.
Victorville City Firefighters located the black bicycle underneath the front bumper of the minivan. They requested an air ambulance to land at nearby Desert Valley Hospital. Mercy Air 22 then airlifted the teen to Loma Linda University Medical Center with unknown injuries.
The driver of the van remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
The Victorville Police Department did not release further information. However, they requested anyone with information to call 760-241-2911.
