Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run on Remick Avenue [El Cajon, CA]
Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted After Fatal Crash near Osborne Street
ARLETA, CA (May 22, 2020) – Police confirmed that a 54-year-old pedestrian got killed in a hit-and-run on Remick Avenue on Friday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Osborn Street at approximately 9:30 PM.
A report from the Los Angeles Police Department showed that the pedestrian was in the alley of a local grocery when an unknown vehicle exiting the parking lot struck him. The driver of the vehicle then negotiated a left turn onto eastbound Osborne to leave the scene.
Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. They did not release his identity pending notification of family.
The description of the hit-and-run vehicle was not yet known. However, the city offers a standing $50,000 reward for information leading to the capture and conviction of the suspect.
