Carl Nielsen Dies in Motorcycle Collision With Car in Apple Valley
APPLE VALLEY, CA (May 19, 2020) — A Saturday afternoon motorcycle crash on Deep Creek Road near Rock Springs Road left a 38-year-old man dead.
According to officials, the incident befell around 3:50 p.m. Investigators say Carl Nielsen, of Apple Valley, crashed his dirt bike motorcycle with a truck that attempted a left-hand turn. Nielsen traveled southbound on Deep Creek Road, south of Rock Springs Road, before the impact.
Following the accident, firefighters requested a helicopter to airlift Nielsen from the scene to a trauma center. However, firefighters canceled the call and transported him to Desert Valley Hospital, where he died at 4:35 p.m.
